HI! LADIES! LET’s TALK ABOUT YOUR MAKE-UP!

I have always said it, and in the period of over ten years up till this time, that the most beautiful thing God ever made is the HUMAN BODY. It’s an amazing specimen of creation, a masterpiece of the Creator’s ingenuity. And, if you ask me, talking specifically of that human body, I would say that the most beautiful specimen (or, is it the more beautiful) of that human body is – guess? – yes, the female body! Some years back, the Italian embassy in Nigeria organised a programme in conjunction with an NGO of Nigerian women known as the“Vagina Initiative.” (I wonder if they are still in existence?) When I read about it in the newspapers, I felt that that was a very bold initiative – the Vagina Initiative; I felt that Nigerian women were really coming out of their cocoons and were beginning to appreciate their own bodies as God’s masterpiece of creation. And, again, if you ask me, I would say that the most beautiful part of that more beautiful female body, is, indeedThe Vagina. But, that’s a topic for another day. For now, girls (yes! every woman is a girl!) let’s celebrate “our” beauty! Oh yes! I’m a man and yet I’m saying “our” beauty! It’s because, indeed, it’s our beauty, isn’t it? What’s the use of a beautiful girl who never has a man (men) around to celebrate her? So, indeed, it’s our beauty!

I’ve been thinking of the issue of make-up and I think it’s time to just do some stuff here about it. I appreciate the efforts of those through whose services I’ve been able to garner the “little” knowledge I’m going to share here. However, I’d like to be like a good pharmaceutical company, which, though it feels convinced about its own products, would still tell you to consult your doctor as to if, when and how to take the drugs! So, I would say that you might want to consult your cosmetologist and other beauty practitioners that you trust your “looks” and “health” with, in order to know how specifically you should handle the tips herein given. Having said that, let’s get down to business.

As a man, I’ve always had an eye for beautiful people and more so for beautiful girls. All of you great girls, beautiful girls out there, THUMBS UP!

Now, whenever I see a beautiful girl who also knows how to enhance or ‘package’ that beauty, I feel like saying, Wow! You wow me all the time and God bless you for that.

Now, talking about make-up, what have we got to say in this particular write-up? Check it out here:

**It’s advisable that, first, you apply foundation on and around your lips and then define the look of those lips by using the lip liner! Hmm! But, wait, I said you should consult with your cosmetologist! If s(he) says yes, that’s a good one, then go ahead with it.

**If upper lip does not have a very good shape that you are proud of, then outline it with lip liner same as lipstick. Then give it a shape with brown pencil and apply colour! Hmm! I can almost see you already doing that!

**If your lips are naturally full and large, do not use lip liner. You can soften the edge using a Q-tip and avoid glossy and shiny lip colour.

**Before applying blush or rouge remember to knock the excess powder out of your brush before you start to apply it.

**To make skin look clearer, apply blush to the apple of your cheeks and blend it back, but only until the corner of the eye.

**Invest in a couple of good make-up sponges to apply foundation, concealer, bronzer or body glitter more effectively.

**Use powdered eyebrow shadows on your brows rather than an eyebrow pencil for a more natural and mellow effect.

**Try using just lipstick without lip liner to create a subtle look for a day at work.

**You may not exactly like this one, but some cosmetologists recommend it: they say you should avoid fake eyelashes like a plague! What do they recommend instead? They say you should use volumizing mascara instead to add body and draw attention to your eyes! Hmm!

**They also say you should avoid liquid concealers during the summer and on hot days as they can literally melt off your face when temperatures rise.

Hmm! How do you find these? Catch ya next time!
